ITANAGAR, Mar 25: ZPM, Nyapin Zila segment informed that three houses were gutted down to ashes by a devastating fire that broke out at Gyamar village on March 23.
ZPM Gyamar Deriang while informing that nothing could be saved from the fire, called on the ADC Nyapin Circle and local MLA who is also the Parliamentary Secretary Education and IPR Bamang Felix to help the fire victims.

APUAP Act comes into effect from Jan 26
ITANAGAR, Mar 25: The Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 2014 (APUAPA) has come into effect from 26th January, 2015. Under Section (3) (1) of the Act, the State Government or any officer of the State Government not below the rank of a Secretary of the State Government or a District Magistrate has been empowered to make order to detain a person associated with unlawful activities with a view to preventing him from acting in any manner prejudicial to the security of the state, or maintenance of Public Order or maintenance of daily supplies and services essential to the public, according to an official release.
Under Section (2) (xii) of the Act, “Unlawful Activities” means acting in such a manner so as to cause or likely to cause directly or indirectly, ny feeling of insecurity, danger or fear among the general public or any section thereof or any danger to the safety of individuals, safety of public, public health or the ecological system or disruption of daily supplies and essential services to public or any loss or damage to public exchequer or to any public or private property or enforce on general public activities declared as illegal by the State Government or prohibited by State Government under Section 144 of CrPc or any other order for the time being in force such as Bandh through intimidation or psychological fear or threat and causing actual damage to public or private property, the release added.

DC asks BSNL to improve services in Tawang

Governor mourns death of Tashi Khandu
ITANAGAR, March 25: The Governor of Arunachal, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Nirbhay Sharma has expressed shock and grief over the demise of former Member of Legislative Assembly from Tawang Tashi Khandu.
“He was one of the pioneers of the State. The people of the State will always remember his immense contribution”, the Governor said in a condolence message.
“In this hour of grief, my wife Jyotsna and I join the people of Arunachal Pradesh in extending solidarity with the bereaved family members and pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul. We must take solace that the soul is immortal,” the governor added.
Meanwhile, Tourism and UD Minister Pema Khandu along with Tsering Tashi, MLA Tawang visited the residence of Late Tashi Khandu to pay their last respect.
“He is the true social worker who spent his entire life in the villages to work for the benefit of downtrodden. In him we have lost a father figure, a great leader and an epitome of simple living high thinking”, Pema said.
Late Tashi Khandu is survived by four children. The last rite of Late Tashi Khandu is scheduled on March 27 next in accordance with Monpa Buddhist custom.
PPA calls for study on new Mines Act
ITANAGAR, Mar 25: The People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) requested the state government to make a rational study on new Mines Act 2015 enacted by the NDA Government.
The Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh needs to make a rational study as to how the new Mines Act will empower the mining states, particularly Arunachal in terms of providing them revenue and using part of the profits for local and tribal welfare, said PPA general secretary Kaling Jerang in a party meeting on the new Mines Act.
“The proposed legislation calls for the setting up of a District Mineral Foundation where mining takes place to address the grievances of the people affected by mining, the PPA general secretary said. He also requested the State government to make a study on the importance and the role to be played by National Mineral Exploration Trust appointed by the Central Government in state’s interest.

Food business operators asked to maintain cleanliness
KHONSA, Mar 25: Tirap Deputy Commissioner has asked all food business operators in the district to maintain general hygienic and sanitary practice as instructed in Food Safety and Standards Rules 2011 from next month.
Chairing a meeting on Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 here today, the Deputy Commissioner asked all food business operators in Tirap to get themselves registered with the department concerned since obtaining licenses and registration to run such business in mandatory under the Act.

Services need to improve
Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily, I would like to express my grievances towards the Bucho Royal Enfield, regarding their service, behaviour of staff, facilities and unavailability of parts.
On 11 March 2015, while I was coming from Itanagar, unfortunately my clutch cable was broken in Papu nallah. And I was due for free servicing.
From there, I pushed the bike, which was very heavy, up to the dealer.
When I reached the dealer and asked for clutch cable, they said that there was none. When I complained that such a small and necessary part should be available, they did not respond well. This type of staff behaviour brings a bad reputation and they should know how to behave with customers.
My grievance against them is that servicing is finished within ten to fifteen minutes and their mechanics are not well experienced. Secondly, the important parts are never available. Being an authorized dealer, the parts should be available. Thirdly, the wash centre does not have a lifter or vacuum cleaning facilities.
After speaking with them, I entered the servicing room where I saw “CUSTOMER IS OUR GOD” sign board. I told them to take it off because according to the sign board, the staffs are god not the customers.
Business needs customer and if a customer face problem like above mentioned, than business houses are not interested in the work, they only want to make money. And being a customer, it is my right to express my view and problems.
The consumer protection act 1986 is already in place so I appeal and request the customers, Arunachal Bullet Club and the owner of the showroom to look into the matter. It is my request to state and district consumer disputes redressal forum to look into this matter urgently and seriously.

The electricity consumer belonging to Kelek Mirbuk Village, P.O / P.S Pasighat East Siang wish to inform you that there is frequent power failure in our village and sometimes for days together. We have been complaining about it for many days now but there is no result. It fails us regularly. Sometimes, even when there is power, the voltage is so low that our fans do not move and TV, mobile are not charged. It puts us into great difficulty. Now our students are facing their board exams and college students will also write their examination in the upcoming months so they are the worse sufferers.

Congress harming itself
The recent report about internal wrangling in Congress party which was reported in a national daily has been completely denied by Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC). Just few days after the report surfaced, on Monday Congress Legislature Party meeting was held at Chief Minister’s office which was attended by all the party legislators. Party termed the report as an act with intent to create confusion among the people of state. Party also resolved to take legal action against those involved in spreading rumour using mass and social media.
Though Congress managed to douse of fire for now, the report of dissidence among its legislators keep surfacing in social media. The news about “Dissidence movement among Congress MLAs” has become the favourite topic of discussion for the people of Arunachal. Rumours keep flying about the dissidence movement. There is no doubt that these rumours definitely comes out from within Congress party only. The party has to understand that such situation is deeply hurting their image. Also it leads to creation of an ‘instability’ situation in the state. Ever since BJP came to power at centre, the Congress government of Arunachal has not been able to concentrate on governance. It seems like present government is concentrating only in saving their chair and are not able to give time for governance.
